How to get to Victoria


Victoria is the capital of British Columbia, the westernmost province of Canada. It is located at the southern tip of Vancouver Island and can be reached either by air or water.

by Air

Airport: the International Victoria Airport (YYJ) is located north of the city, just off Highway 1 on its way to the Ferry Terminal. A great number of airlines serve the city.

Downtown Victoria: you can fly directly to downtown Victoria (Inner Harbour or nearby heliport), using the services of Harbour Air and Helijet..

by Ferry

BC Ferries: offers various routes to the ferry terminal of Swartz Bay, north of Victoria.

Black Ball Ferry Lines: offers ferry services between Victoria and Port Angeles in the United States.

Clipper Vacations: offers a passenger-only services between Victoria and Seattle in the United States.

by Bus

You can arrive in Victoria by bus both from within the island and from the mainland using the services of Pacific Coach Lines and Greyhound Canada.

by Car, Motorcycle, or bicycle

If you plan to drive or ride to Victoria, please look at the information on Ferries above.

If you are riding your bicycle, or plan to bring your bicycle with you, Victoria offers one of the most comprehensive network of bicycle paths and dedicated lanes. Bicycle books and maps can be found at bookstores or at the Visitor Center.
