What is it?
The 71st Victoria Highland Games & Celtic Festival is a great weekend for the entire family. We want to share our love of Scottish culture, entertain you and give you a great value for money. Here is a list of some of the things you will find over the two days:
Saturday (Celtic Festival)
Planned Saturday events include kilted mile athletics, tug of war competition, sheep dog herding competition, heavy events workshop and novice competition, pipe bands, Celtic rock bands, and Celtic dance, music and entertainment activities.
Sunday (Highland Games)
Sunday is the traditional Scottish Games and features competitions in highland dancing, bagpiping and drumming; massed pipe band performances and a spectacular opening ceremonies at noon with massed pipebands and the Fraser Highlanders cannon and musket demonstration. An invitational Heavy Events Competition (e.g. caber toss) will be held at the Games and will include the 5 time world champion.
On both days, there is a free kids entertainment area (including kilted 100-yard dashes, mini-heavy events and bouncy castles). A variety of entertainment is being planned for each entire day including: Cape Breton, Irish, and Scottish country dancing, choirs, fiddling, and historical displays and demonstrations. The Lion Rampart beer garden, Single Malt Whisky School, Scottish and Celtic vendors and concessions round out the two-day events. Lions Brunch from 10 am Saturday and Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 am Sunday

How do you get here?
Getting to Topaz Park
The park is centrally located in Victoria BC at the corners of Blanchard and Finlayson.
Parking
Parking is limited around Topaz Park. We ask that visitors to the games do not park in residential spaces. We are guests of the community, and we ask that you help us to respect their neighborhood. Please consider other modes of transportation.
Transit
We recommend the use of public transit whenever possible. A number of bus routes pass right by the park:
- 6 - Royal Oak Exchange
- 8 - Interurban/Tillicum/Oak Bay
- 70- Swartz Bay/Downtown
- 75 - Airport/Downtown
There are also a number of bus routes that stop within blocks of the park. Please check out the BC Transit Website for more.
Getting to Victoria
By Ferry
BC Ferries run a number of routes to Victoria. The ferry schedule at this time of year has a ferry every hour from 7:00am to 9:00pm (with some exceptions).
By Road
Victoria is accessible by both Highway 17 and Trans Canada Highway 1. You can map a route using Google Maps.
